I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor/ Psychotherapist and began my professional training in 1997. In 1998 I moved to Somerset and have lived here ever since. In 2002 I completed my initial counselling training and then worked for several years in the field of addiction. In 2010 I trained as a Gestalt Psychotherapist with CHPC in Devon. During my career I have worked in a variety of settings including further education, residential treatment for addiction, private practice, street agencies and drop in centres.
I have had many years’ experience of providing individual counselling and as a group facilitator, as well as training and delivering educational workshops and lectures. In my last employment I also represented the counselling department in the organisation’s clinical and integrated governance meetings. Having mentored and supported students in their university placements, I was motivated to begin training as a counselling supervisor with CSTD. I am currently providing supervision to Counselling students in placement within a residential rehabilitation centre for addiction in Weston- Super- Mare. I will complete my Diploma in Supervision in 2017.
Throughout my career I have worked with a diverse range of clients, many with complex needs. Being an Accredited Member of the BACP I subscribe to their ethical framework and code of practice. I am dedicated to continuing my personal and professional development and my qualifications and vocational training are as follows.
